A former professional footballer with Tottenham, Watford and several non-league sides, Ricky has been interested in horse racing practically all of his working life.
In1992 he was part of a small group of fellow punters who purchased the horse Earth Summit, which won the Grand National in 1998. After leaving football he learned the sales trade as an area representative with Adidas, and after three years decided to form his own company trading sports footwear internationally. Nowadays he works as a betting consultant for Ladbrokes, and was a well-known broadcaster on Radio 5 where he hosted his own show discussing the weekend matches, together with the famous football commentator John Motson.
He regularly contributes pieces to the Daily Telegraph, covering a number of league and cup matches.

The BBC's legendary football commentator has been involved in racehorse ownership for many years and has been successfully advising punters with his football betting tips for years also. As his television activities have been scaled down due to the loss of live football recently so his interest in racing has increased. A lifelong friend of Ricky George, 'Motty' will feature regularly on the site in video form, advising on football and horse betting.
Ric Gannon - Director
Originally in sales with companies such as Marconi, Sperry Rand, and GEC Plessey Telecommunications, Ric Gannon became an early pioneer of the internet, having in 1993 started the first company to successfully install in-room internet into hotels. The Company went public on the Alternative Investment Market in late 1995, and later Ric became MD, before a US group took over in 2001. Since then he has been consulting a number of small companies and has all the necessary experience to push Beat the Bookie to meet its business objectives.
Adam George - Consultant
Adam is responsible for the creation of the hugely successful Beat The Bookie information service started in 2005.
Adam had forged important relationships within the powerful racing yards across the country and is now well known for his statistical expertise with regard to horse racing and football betting. Adam will be managing the marketing of the website and has creative editorial responsibility.
